I had troubles with their software, because it's utterly sh41t. The final response was "check your tokens." At least I have learned to not neglect any form of backup and if it's something like pCloud, just don't use it. I have about 200-300 files sitting in there as I speak, none being those from pCloud. And then I must have accidentally emptied the portion of the trash where the files would have gone and left everything else intact. Thus far, since that email, the only response has been - "Our system cannot lose files" "look in your finder (again)" because we can't lose files, apparently, I must have accidentally chucked thousands and thousands and thousands of files that I need into the trash and ignored the pop up asking me if I really did want to trash them. I also said if they didn't refund me, I'd mention that.

I mentioned that if they refunded me, I would mention that as a last gasp attempt to make up for their system. I mentioned that I was morally obligated to review them. If I didn't have to spend days or months recreating my stuff, it is possible it would be excellent. I have started a very good Christmas season.

My business is small and every step forward or back counts. This is my busiest time and I don't have time to be remaking my products. But that remaining percentage represents approximately 6 months to a year of work. I did have an old external hard drive that has about half of my work, and Backblaze recovered about 60%. And, if they were a business that valued their reputation they would refund me my lifetime fee. doc with five nonsense words, in their drive again. I let them know that obviously I would not be putting any documents, be it a. Their system misfiring is the ONLY explanation, especially given the timing of my files' demise - immediately after their update. Apparently, it is physically impossible for their system to be compromised or for it to misfire and delete files. And, as I pointed out, theoretically, if a hacker could get in their system, they actually had a bigger problem than mine. If I were hacked, I think I'd notice sometime before the second after updating their system. I work at home in a rural area and leave the house every few weeks, always without my computer.

They suggested my system was "compromised". I asked what a token is and the reply was "check your tokens." I can't remember the sequence, but some of their "help" was look in my Finder (already knew and they knew they weren't there). There are not that many places to look on the drive, but I looked everywhere many many times. I was not keeping the files on my laptop because they were too big - hence the sign up with pCloud drive. When I opened the drive my folder structure was intact - as far as I can tell - but approximately 90% of my files were GONE.

They told me to update my system and told me how to do it. It wouldn't stay open long enough for me to access my files. A few days ago the drive started acting glitchy. I also left my other backup plans idle, as it's difficult to back up pCloud.Īnd I stupidly trusted their system. I did notice slowness but I also found the desktop drive very handy. I signed up (stupidly) for their lifetime plan several months ago. I was wondering if this is normal or I did things wrong? Pcloud staff are not being helpful, because, although the company pretends to be in Switzerland, the staff did not understand what I was asking (I did it in both English and German, the latter being the most official language in Switzerland) and I overheard 4 people all talking in Russian, asking how they should answer me.

Onedrive and Google Drive are able to upload multiple files at the same time.Īlthough I can look the other way when it comes to features (for example software a bit outdated, also it doesn't show you what you are downloading or uploading, it just gives a count of # of files left), the upload/download process where multiple files cannot sync at the same time is a big turnoff for me. Or to be more accurate, the speed on Pcloud Drive is quite fast (on par with Google Drive and OneDrive) BUT here is the kicker: it uploads files 1 BY 1! I just got this offer for Black Friday, however I am very shocked about the upload speed.
